During my August trip to southern France and (on a cruise) to Italy, Spain, and Malta, I didn’t see many flowers. Maybe it was because it was the end of summer – and the weather in Europe was very hot with almost no rainfall.
I really struggle in the heat. But every time I see a flower, it perks me up – and then I had to, of course, take a picture ๐ ๐๐ทโค๏ธ
Here are some of the flowers I saw on my trip…

First flowers seen in Marseille, France

Bougainvillea in Marseille, France

Periwinkle-colored flowers in Genoa, Italy

Giant Marigolds in Valetta, Malta

Flower on Mount Vesuvius near Pompeii, Italy

Hibiscus in Lourmarin, France

Scarlet-colored flowers in Lourmarin, France

Clover (I’m guessing) in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Camargue, France

Last flowers seen in Cassis, France
My favorite flower is the peony. My mom grew them in her magnificent garden on the farm where I grew up in Northern Alberta – a location where the winters are very cold, as so gardening is seasonal and challenging. I’m blessed to be able to see peonies in Victoria – even if they only bloom here for (what feels like) a few very short weeks in the summer.
What’s your favorite flower?

I find it hard to choose a favourite thatโs for sure. I love bouquets. That way I can enjoy many of them at once. Love your photos!
Great choice, Jodie! The more the merrier – in life and in flowers ๐๐
