My First Blog Post

Why write a blog? Because… resistance is futile.

I love Star Trek. Great characters. Compelling plots. Huge challenges. Captain, I need an hour to fix the—  You have two minutes, Scotty. And I’m already off-topic. What’s the topic of this first post? Oh yes, resistance is futile. I resisted setting up a blog for what feels like forever. Why? Because of these thoughts…

  • I’ve nothing worth saying
  • I can’t write well unless I have lots of time
  • If I spend time on blogging, I will lose time on writing my books

But lately, other thoughts have been popping into my head and always with the thought: I should write a blog post about that. The thoughts wouldn’t stop. And then I thought…

What if I learned how to let go, to be brave, to write fast & fearless?

No time wasted. Instead, time well spent. My book writing could benefit. Words might come quicker – everywhere! Those thoughts felt…

  • powerful
  • freeing
  • irresistible

So, here I am. I’ve been a guest blogger and participated in a group blog, but this is my first post on a personal blog site.

Goodbye, resistance… at least for today.

You’re an old companion. I expect you to show up again. If you do, maybe I’ll write a blog post about you! Life is a challenge. Some days, small steps are all that can be managed. But I’m very glad when the following thought entered my mind this morning, I didn’t resist…

I want to see you be brave, every day

  1. Hi Jacqui,
Oh migosh. I love your blog post and your blog. The page is so well designed my eyes relaxed the moment I landed on it. The post is perfect. Indeed today is a day to celebrate.
    all the best,
My present challenge is using instagram. So much to learn.

  2. Great post-Jacqui! Love the page and content.
Love the “Be brave and just do it” what great kicks in the pants for me as well.

Keep those words flowing fast and fierce. I’m happy to help with Instagram. I enjoy watching webinars on Instagram, I can share which ones are fun and easy to follow.

  3. I love your blog, Jacqui! Being fearless really takes practice–at least for me. Trying new things makes me so nervous because I can’t seem to shake the feeling that I’ll fail. But so what if I do? No one will chop off my head or throw me into a swamp with alligators. If I fail, I get right back up and try again.

When I get a minute, I’m going to read your new book. I love those colors and the title is great. Choosing Bravery. Maybe that’s got you thinking about all this blog stuff.

    Love you, lady!

    • You’re right, Linda! Being fearless takes practice. Time to make a routine of it. And also, as you say, what’s the worst that can happen? No alligators up here on Canada’s west coast – so I’m extra safe 😊 I do think my new book “Choosing Bravery” helped push me to be braver (can’t always ask my characters to do the things I’m too nervous to do) & also the Sara Bareilles song, “Brave.” Love you too! Hugs ❤

I'd love to hear from you. Please type your comment in the box below.
